Are Digestive Issues Keeping You From Eating Away From Home?

Now that spring is here and pandemic restrictions are loosening a bit (and perhaps after 2+ years we’re just tired of our own cooking) more people are eating out, getting takeout, or dining with friends. 

But for people with digestive problems, eating away from home can be a THING.

They wonder…
  • How will I react to the food? 
  • Will the menu have anything I can eat on this restrictive diet I’ve put myself on? 
  • I don’t want to make a big deal about asking my friends – or family – to cook something “special” for me.
  • Will I be able to get through the evening without symptoms? (Like pain, “unexpected” bathroom trips, bloating out of my pants, heartburn, etc.).
  • I can kind of manage my symptoms when I cook at home, but who knows what will happen if I eat away from home?
I regularly hear these concerns when I begin working with clients. 

Often, they’ve become scared of eating. Or at least of eating away from home. 

Or they aren’t clear about which foods they’ll react to and which ones they won’t, so they pick this narrow sphere of foods that they know are usually “safe.”

As a result, leaving home to eat doesn’t seem like an option.  And that can become sad and isolating. 

Fortunately, it doesn’t have to be this way.

  • Have the freedom to choose one of several possible selections on a menu. 
  • Feel certain that you can leave your own cooking behind to eat away from home, without unexpected gut symptoms wrecking your plans.
